Building a capsule wardrobe

A capsule wardrobe isn't about deprivation. It's about editing down to the pieces you actually reach for, in colours that work together, so getting dressed takes seconds instead of minutes.

Start with a neutral base — think stone, black, indigo and natural. Add texture rather than pattern: linen, wool, denim and leather already bring plenty of interest. Then choose one or two accent pieces per season.

The test for anything new is simple: can you style it three ways with what you already own? If not, it's a want, not a wardrobe.

Done well, a capsule pays for itself. You buy less, you waste less, and everything you own earns its place in the drawer.
